I have a recipe - I’m not even sure what time period - I would guess 1950s or 60s. One of the ingredients is “bunice.” Any ideas of what this might be?

Maybe a misspelled butter? What is the recipe about...? How much "bunice" do they use? Is the recipe coming from a foreign background, German, French, African, Middle Eastern, Hispanic?
