What is the "glitter" look on the middle tier?  How would that be applied?

Thanks!

I would guess that it might be sanding sugar, rolled in pearl dust applied to either butter cream or slightly dampened fondant.

There is a sanding sugar that comes already pearlized, be sure you are using a coarse one!

Thanks ladies.  Found a course one!  Thanks for that, too!  I need it to be a very specific color.  Do you think I can just put the sanding sugar in a jar with luster dust and shake it all about to get the color I need?

I've never colored sanding sugar, but I have colored regular granulate sugar that way and it worked great.

I remember in a place I used to work for, they put sugar, pearl dust and petal dust and give it a good shake in a plastic bag or jar....Voila!

Yes mrsmac888 putting sanding sugar and petal dust in a jar/container and shaking will work. Then after applied to the cake, I would dry dust with the pearl dust again to get more “sparkle”.
