I have done a ton of bark cakes in buttercream but I can't seem to get this one to look like the picture!! I have scraped and redone multiple times. It just doesn't look right!
Have no idea what is used to make that bark or all the different things you have tried...... but the 1st thing that popped into my mind when the pic opened was that it's very lightly brushed with white choco on top of dark choco or white powdered coloring.
This technique is done by applying wafer paper to fondant, dampening it, then rolling the fondant out a little thinner. When the fondant stretches, it causes the paper to crack, creating the bark look. I will see if I can find a tutorial.
Here's another. It is super easy and very pretty.
Wow Sandra... how interesting!
kakeladi, it is so easy, even I can do it and I love the way it looks.
That 2nd video was fascinating - thanks so much for sharing that Sandra! I feel like I need to make a bark cake now!!
You are very welcome, theresaf!
