So I accidentally melted most of my butter when trying to soften it to make my frosting and the frosting was very different.  The texture was different and I couldn't get it to firm up with more powdered sugar. Anyone else have this happen when melting butter vs. Sofening it? I guess I wont be doing that again! Only soften amd dont melt!

Sorry no help here:(   I’m sure it happened to me but it’s been so long ago I don’t remember what I’d do

I have over melted my butter, but I didn't use it.  Started over with fresh butter and put the melted back in the fridge.  The only think I can think of that might help the frosting is to put it in the refrigerator for a while to help the butter firm by up.
