Just wondering if anyone has ever made the Hershey bar pound cake? It calls for 8 Hershey bars melted with Hershey's syrup. The cake is divine. It is expensive buying all those candy bars. I'm wondering if using Hershey semi sweet chips (equal weight) would work? It would be so much cheaper, but not sure you would get the same result.

I think it’s very doable   The chip might have a slightly different consistency — a bit less fluid? But in the long run should be so close as to almost the same

MamaGeese, I would use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet, if you are trying to replace a Hersey Bar.  It wouldn't hurt anything to add a heaping tablespoon of Hersey's Cocoa powder, just to boost the chocolate flavor.
