Hidy, All!
I've searched high and low for this, so I'm coming to the pros! (: Can the dry ingredients in your typical WASC recipe be used for extending a standard cake mix cookie recipe? Increasing eggs from 2 to 3, and oil from 1/2 to 2/3's?
Thanks so much in advance
I've never made cookies from a cake mix, so I really don't know. In case you've never made the WASC recipe, it makes a more robust, dense cake than a straight mix. I don't know how that would affect your cookies, but I think it vastly improves the cake.
If you are unable to reply to this post, just start a new one referring back to the original.
Thank you! Yes, I've used the WASC recipe for 12 years, and love it! My kiddos were recently introduced to Cake Mix Cookies ( mix + 2 eggs + .5 C oil) and they're having an awesome quarantine coming up with combos! Just curious if extender version would work to squeeze out another dozen (: Thanks so much for your feedback!
Personally, I would give it a try. What do you have to loose. You know the cookies will still be delicious. I would say just try to make sure the consistency of the batter stays about the same.
I never even thought to use my recipe for cookies because of the extra “wet” ingredients Sure one could just use the extra sugar, flour, & vanilla, probably even the egg but the sour cream is going to make cookies very soft , maybe make them dough like If I remember I might give it a try tomorrow
