My sister is making a cake and needs fake grass, and because of this pandemic we don't want to go to the store to get coconut.  Is there anyway to make fake grass with no coconut, that tastes delicious?

Why not pipe it w/buttercream? Use tip 233 often called the grass or fur tip Otherwise one could cut very thin strings of fondant

My thinking is the same as kakeladi's, pipe the grass or use fondant, if you don't have a grass tip.

I would use buttercream too. Just in case you do not have the grass piping tip, you can create one by poking small holes on the end of a folded piping bag. Take a look at that link if you want.
