Hey all,  feeling a little nervous at the moment and am hoping to get some input from you regarding eucaluptus leaves on a cake.

I often decorate my cakes with wired and taped fresh flowers. For the time ever, I used eucalyptus leaves. After placing them on, I read about their toxicity.  "Um-ing" and "ah-ing" for a while, I decided to remove them and am now incredibly paranoid I've made the cake toxic.

I see these on cakes all the time now (they're very trendy at the moment) and am wondering if they're on gumpaste or artificial.

Just hoping to maybe find some comfort that I haven't poisoned my cake

Yes they are toxic I’m not an expert but I don’t think there is a problem since you removed them Looks like you are going to have to learn how to make them in gp/fondant :) Using artificial has its own drawbacks—who knows what might have been used to make them &/or who/what has touched them so its back to making them yourself

Oh yes, at least most of the ones you see on cakes are made of gum paste.  They are not difficult or time consuming to make.
