Hi, I'm new here. Wanted to ask advice on making a Minnie mouse fondant bow topper for a six inch round cake. I have seen many tutorials, however the challenges that I'm having are: 1. I can't seem to decide on what size is best and 2. My fondant keeps getting elephant skin while folding the bow (using MMF which works well for me with other projects). Can anyone help me to resolve these issues please? Thanks so much
If you happen to have any, add a squirt of gylcerine. It adds moisture and makes it a bit more flexible. If you don't have gylcerine, add a little bit of Crisco (or Trex). You can just rub a dollop in your hands and knead the fondant.
For a six inch cake, I would think a bow about four long would look nice.
