Afternoon everyone,

I've just joined as a celebration/novelty cake maker. I have a commission for an Aston Martin car and looking  for the best idea to get a glass like sheen on it. I know you can use vodka or vegetable oil and glycerin perhaps and there are some sprays. Any hints or tips would be much appreciated

Thankyou

Helen

For the most uniform, authentic shine, I suggest you use a commercial cake glaze, the spray would probably work best for a car.  I've made it by mixing corn syrup and vodka, but it is very hard to get the two evenly mixed and the end results tends to be spotty.  Also, it takes a long time to dry.  Glaze is much more effective and dry well.
