Hello!
Not sure if I’m posting in the right form, but I have my daughters birthday party today at 5:30pm and need some advice. I ordered a cake about 2-3 weeks ago from someone I found on Facebook I sent her a photo of exactly what I wanted and how many servings I wanted etc. She is almost finished with the cake and send me a photo last night and I am not happy with it at all. I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but I really do not feel it’s what I asked for. I will attach photos of what I sent her and what she made. Please let me know if I am overreacting. I am super stressed as my daughters birthday party is hours away and I really don’t have a backup plan. I’ve attached photos of the cakes side by side and the message I sent her. Thank you!

Hello Sorry you are not happy with what is being made for you Unfortunately I cannot see the pix — not sure if it’s the site giving problems or my phone just won’t load them Before I forget I want to say that you will not be able to reply to any post for about 30 days so if you want to comment on any post just start a new post referring to the one you are talking about Know that pictures can be deceiving especially in regards to size and shape Without seeing them I cannot comment further:(
Yes, you are completely overreacting. The size of the cake looks different in pictures. Once you get a 12" cake, you will see how many servings it makes. The coloring? Even in the two different pictures of hers you sent, you can see color differences because of the lighting. Heck, the original cake may be darker, but the picture is so lit up with fake lighting that it may appear lighter. The dress sizes? You are using a completely different sized cake than the original, as you wanted more servings. If you want that exact cake, then order that exact size, maybe 3 6" layers? And figure out your other servings in cupcakes or a sheet cake or something. If you are particular of exact color matching, then say that in the beginning. "I need these colors to be exact, or I will complain", thus the baker knows you're a control freak and will either pay very special attention to that, or realize it isn't worth the cost to deal with you. It's a freaking birthday party, and I'm sure your daughter will love/loved it, and I feel very bad that you are so particular and have no idea how much time this woman put into this cake, nor can anyone meet your perfectionism. I feel very bad for anyone in your life that cannot meet your standards.
I now can see the pix.........I mostly agree w/inthekitchen2...........changing the size of the base cake makes all the decorations (dolls etc) look different. As I said before, pix can distort many things. I bet your daughter is most happy with this beautiful creation! The 'inspiration' pix you based your order on looks to be a 6"x6" or 8 x6" round. Using a 12" base is certainly going to change everything! It is difficult to **EXACTLY** match colors as we all use different brands and have different eyes. What is being offered to you is so very close that almost everyone - especailly a child! - would not notice and cry out with glee at seeing this creation. This decorator has put a lot of time, energy and work into it -- be happy for all involved. Don't take life so serious please!
