I have a bride that likes the look of this wedding cake but I'm not 100% sure how they did it.  She wants all buttercream (no fondant at all.)   I'm thinking maybe it was done by piping an outline and then using palette knives?

Does anyone have any insights or have done a cake with this look?

Thanks!

I think you are exactly right that the mountains were "drawn" with a palette knife or spatula and the trees were piped.  It is a beautiful cake.

I also agree.   Be advised the pinecones will look different if made from b'cream……….not bad - just different.

I think (for sure) the pine cones and branches are real.

I agree - just wanted to let poster know since she said it had to be ALL b'cream :)
