Hello

I am new to airbrushing and my question may seem stupid .

I am making a barrel cake which I am going to airbrush the wood effect , would it be better to put the fondant in place around the cake before I airbrush it ?

Yes cover the cake then airbrush it   Be sure to be careful—you will not be able to erase it:)    Better to add more than have it turn dark all over
