I need to transport a three-tier American buttercream covered wedding cake. I prefer to transport a cold cake; however, bride has requested cake lace on all of her tiers and everything I have read says cake should be brought to room temperature prior to applying cake lace to buttercream because condensation would cause the cake lace to sag or fall off the cake. Does anyone know how long cake lace can remain intact on a room temperature cake and can I safely transport a room temperature cake? Or, should I transport a cold cake and decorate the cake at the church?

Well I transported all of my buttercream cakes room temp as I didn’t know better  I had very few mishaps   I think the biggest one was 3 tiers   If bigger I would take in 2 sections    I know nothing about cake lace — it’s use might change your mind —just my experience hope it helps
