Hello

Is there a way to get the name embossed in a cake without using the Sweet Stamp? Mine haven't arrived in time and I wanted to add my customers name on her cake.

Thanks in advance

Can’t you just pipe in the same color of the icing?   Oh!   Make your own press  :)   Write the name on stiff paper or cardboard then turn it over pipe/trace (so the word is backwards) over w/royal icing—let dry well then carefully press into the icing    I’ve done it many times:)

You are brilliant, kakeladi!  I just struggle along trying to write the name freehand.

No Sandra I was taught that Y E A R S  ago  —  not sure but it might have been in a Wilton class?   In order to have the reverse writing write  it on a thin see thru paper so you can see it when turned over then mount that is stiff cardboard before piping the royal

I remember people piping royal icing on a sheet of plexiglass backwards, then pressing it into the icing.

here's 2 threads about it...…......

Actions

I've done writing transfers (for specialty fonts) that I just did the parchment paper over it.....after I reversed the image and printed it out........then I use piping gel in a very small tip like a 0 or 1.........then let it sit for like 10 min to firm up....then flip it over onto the cake......it leaves just a tad of the piping gel on the cake so you can see it......and then I just go over it with the buttercream. Everyone thinks you write really well and it also helps for making sure your writing is centered on the cake where you want it.

it's a matter of research......……. & my vague recollections of old posts.
