How would you ice a cake to look like a birds nest? Buttercream piped like twigs or smoothed and then forked? Or fondant rolled out into twigs? Or chocolate shards? I can’t decide which would look most realistic.
Probably fondant rolled into twigs would look more realistic, but you could also use the tiny, stick pretzels or chocolate shards.
You can use Pocky sticks...
I'm a b'cream person - I'd pipe lines over and over - might try w/tip 233 but I think that the 'strings' will be too thin so probably have to use something like a # 4 or 5.
I think buttercream would have been good but I ended up doing fondant which was very easy.
i think I would do a combination of fried crispy chow main noodles (do they still come in a can?) and stick pretzels with the salt speckles rubbed off — dipped in choco
but yeah — buttercream piped is easier
so what would happen is — i’d eat the chow mein* noodles and pretzels while I piped — slurp slurp
*autocorrect got me in my other post —
