I know there are a ton of posts about this topic but I am looking specifically for help with doing the tasting at the clients home. Many people said that while they are tasting the cakes, they will walk away so they can do it privately. But if I am at their home then I kind of have to sit there right? Or should I just be discussing everything with them and then leave and have them do the tasting alone? This is my first time doing a tasting. Any advice is appreciated  thank you!

i would just box it and hand it to them — but you need to be very careful about entering stranger’s homes —

i would meet at coffee shops to conduct business or a restaurant — I encourage you to stay in a public places — even if you know them — you need to be on level ground — kwim?

I always had cake tastings at a local cafe. In the public. The only time I had a tasting in my home were with very good friends of my daughter’s that I had known since childhood.

Rather recently a cookie lady was held at gunpoint & raped in her own home by a man posing as a client.   I would take the adivce already given!

I agree with the advise already given.  I would not even consider doing a tasting in someone's home, not for safety reasons necessarily, just on general principle.  I am not that accommodating.
