Melted chocolate? Yes jam is an option Maybe try just dampening the back of the decoration especially if the cupcakes are moist— Maybe under bake them just a tiny bit so the tops are a bit sticky?
The trick in this question is that I, like many members of my family, hate buttercream and quite dislike icing too!
But, I really want to make some Christmas cupcakes!!
I will need to stick a white circle of fondant over a:
1) Chocolate cupcake
2) Christmas spiced cupcake
I do not want to use buttercream / Frosting to do this!
Can you recommend some alternatives?
I think for the Christmas Spiced Cupcake I might use Marzipan, so will use some flavour of jam to stick it down...
