I want to make stand up numbers to go on top of a cake.  Typically I use a steamers to finish off things out of fondant, but I am afraid that this will make them "soggy" again.  Should I steam one side, let it dry, then flip it over on the parchment paper to steam the other?  I think this would seriously increase the drying time and I only have 4 days. Any thoughts?

steaming is just to set the color on there if you are using luster or flower dust — and lasts seconds — should not effect the dryness on the inside —

you can add cornstarch to make the fondant dry faster/harder — it’s cheaper than tylose and you can use more — since it’s just letters —
