Hi everyone! I am making my regular Hershey's chocolate cake with my usual tweaks this afternoon. I want to try to add 1/2 cup semi-swwet mini chocolate chips and a small box of instant pudding mix to the batter. The batter will sure be thicker,

My questions are:

1) Should I do 1/4 c or 1/2 c mini semi-sweet chips?

2) Do i need to increase the liwuid or add an extra egg because of my additions?

Thank you.

Hi Naty :)  Nice to see you around again.   My suggestion i s to add 1/2 c chips and about 3 Tablespoons of strong brewed coffee to your batter.  Not having made that recipe not sure if even more liquid would be needed but state with that then see if you think it really needs more.

Kakeladi, thank you and sorry for the late reply. Im debating even adding the chocolate chips next time. I think that is what made it fudgy. Delicious though! Moist as well.

i would think it is the pudding that made it fudgey, naty— the chips are just along for the ride —
