I have a order for a baby's head peeking out of a pumpkin. I thought to use a ball pan for the pumpkin. For the baby's head would you suggest a Styrofoam ball covered in fondant or make the whole head fondant. This will be on a sheet cake?

Either all fondant or rice cereal or a cake pop

Depending on how big you want the head fondant alone may be too heavy. I would go for rice cereal treats.

I would go with rice cereal treats mainly for weight purposes since all fondant can get quite heavy.

I do a kit if sculptures and I agree that all fondant will be much too heavy and hard with which to work.  I would probably use Rice Krispy Treats, but a styrofoam ball would work equally well and be even more light, just not completely edible.
