Help With This Technique

Hello, can anyone help me with this technique?  I have tried over and over and I cannot seem to get it to look right! Help With This Technique

Have you tried using the back of a spoon?  That may help with the overall look of the swoosh.  Also it seems that there are 3 rows of swooshes (doubt that is the technical term LOL!) on each tier but it looks as though the center row is done first and then the top and bottom are done.

In the end though, this look isn't suppose to be perfect so don't be too picky with it.  I know that can be easier said than done if you are, like me, a perfectionist.

Unfortunately it's not a clear picture :(     Perhaps freckles is right but I think one could also get a similar look by using fondant rolled thin.  Cut  stripes then lightly ruffle.  Make them short and slightly curved - 2 or 3 down the side.
