Recently I purchased a 25 lb bag of Dominos sugar from BJ’s.  I noticed little dark pieces as I would pour the sugar into a bowl.  They weren’t flakes;  Did not look like animal droppings either.  I was able to pick them out of the bowl each time I poured.   I’m wondering what they are.  Has anyone else encountered this before?  Are warehouses purchasing inferior products to sell to customers?

I definitely would return it!   There should not be such stuff in there   Why try to think up what it could be because you will probably be wrong   In the meantime you are exposing your customers to an Unknown substance   Sorry but I would NOT buy anything from you :(

I would return it. The only thing I can think of is bone char. Animal bones are used in the bleaching process, and it's possible some got left in there. Never heard of that happening, and I'm not sure of how the processing is done, but who knows?
