I am making a cake for someone, but it HAS to be whipped cream frosted. I will have to transport the cake by car for about an hour and a half in the summer heat. Would it be a good idea to put the cake in a portable cooler with some freezer packs? Thanks in advance!

Hi there

Your car is air-conditioned, right? Make sure you run the air and it is nice and cold before you put that cold cooler with the cake in it in your vehicle. Ice packs in my opinion are not enough - I would load it with ice and put a plastic barrier between the plastic bagged boxed cake and the ice.  You used icing sugar to sweeten your whipping cream right? I ask because the cornstarch in the icing sugar (powdered sugar) stabilizes your whipping cream somewhat.
