We attended a wedding where we also provided the cupcakes for the wedding.  Someone came up to us and asked if we were willing to ship to another state for a wedding there. We are located in NY and they are located in WI.  We never shipped before and we're wondering if anyone has experience shipping cupcakes? And can provide advice on how to do it.

idk — to me cupcakes peak at 24 to 48 hours old — would I eat a cupcake older than that? oh heck yeah but they are not shippable to me —

i mean surely there is SomeOne in wisconsin  who can bake a nice cupcake to be served fresh and sweet --

sorry I’m no help at all

i mean it’s flattering and surely i’m impressed for/with you but no — the qualities of a cupcake that make it desirable at the same time make it unshippable  — don’t you think?

The cost probably will be really high if you try   You would have to bag each one then if you can even find a box (I’ve seen cupcake box/ carriers at $ store) it would have to be wrapped in plastic too for any chance they might be kept fresh then send them overnight

I've shipped cupcakes to my uncle in Chicago. I baked them, decorated, and froze them for transport; I also did overnight shipping. He left them to sit on the counter to come back to room temperature and said that they tasted fresh. I would have no problem shipping cupcakes for a customer. I packed them in the cupcake clamshells, put those in a box a little bigger with some packing peanuts, and put that box in another box with those air pack things. He sent a picture and they were in perfect condition. Overnight would be the only way that I would do it, though, and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be.
