I thought I was smart by getting all my frosting ready a couple days before i was due to decorate a cake, but I completely forgot to put the frosting in the fridge. It’s a basic American buttercream with unsalted butter, shortening, icing sugar, water & flavourings. The batch has only been out for a day but I’m worried since I heard unsalted butter must be kept in the fridge & cant be out for longer then 15 minutes? Would it still be safe to use?

should be fine — might want to refresh the vanilla — might not — just check the flavor —

Yes as K8said it will be fine   I have left ABC decorated cakes at room temp for 3-4 days   Leaving unused b’cream out for 1-2 days is the same  thing
