I found a cake recipe book that uses cake box mix and then adds in other ingredients. How would I convert these cake box mix into a scratch cake. I prefer scratch but I will give the cake box a try and compare the two.

If you prefer scratch, why would you start with a recipe book with box mix recipes?  Kakeladi is right; give the *Original* WASC a try.  It might just change your mind about cake mixes!

There also is a recipe on this site for making your own “cake mix”   Sorry I can’t link you to the post —  Maybe Sandra can find it   I posted it about a few weekor so ago    That way you would advoid what some people dislike about mixes — chemicals etc

Here's that link to a post about making your own cake mix that can then be used to make the WASC cake recipe.  https://www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/850409/scratch-wasc-help
