How long would I need to bake 2 or 3 9 inch round cake pans at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for a regular oven?
It is going to depend a bit on what you are baking :) For cake tiers that are in 2" deep pans I usually bake it for about 15-20 minutes, then turn the temp up to 325 for an equal amount of time. Usually I know by smell what a cake is done - when you can smell that wonderful aroma in the next room :) To me if a cake has pulled away from the sides of the pan it is overdone. You need to catch it just before it pulls away :) Until you get used to baking at low temps you need to test your cakes with a toothpick stuck into the middle - if it comes out with a few crumbs clinging - no wet batter - it is done.
