Hello!   I am new to the forum so I hope I am posting in the correct channel.  I want to make a Kentucky Derby Hat Cake using a 14 inch round for the brim and 2-8 inch rounds for the body of the hat. I have never attempted anything like this; would dowels be needed to help with stability? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as the layers are level there’s no problem—if I’m Understanding your ?   Iright   It would be the same as making a wedding cake

Oh & it would be best to use dowels since the 8”er will be 2 layers
