HI There,

I purchase a two piece silicon leaf mold and I am not sure how to use it.  Can anyone assist?  I wanted to use fondant/gumpaste mix but wondering is these are just for sugar work?

You should be able to use it as you said   Those molds are very nice to use   Put a flattened piece of your mixture in the bottom side & press the top section over removing the excess   Peel the finished leaf out carefully   Can use either gp fondant or mixed

Exactly as kakeladi said - cut out your leaf, thin the edges with a ball tool, dust the veiner on both sides with cornstarch, position the leaf centered on the veiner, apply the top and press firmly.  When you remove the leaf, it will have realistic veins.  I mostly use gum paste for leaves, but you can also use fondant fortified with Tylose or even modeling chocolate.
