Got a request for a Guinness cake. I always make the extended cake recipe & get rave reviews. Could I use this recipe, but replace the water with Guinness, or would this not work? Thanks.

I don't see why not. When I made a Guinness cake, I used my regular chocolate cake recipe and just subbed Guinness for the water, and it worked out fine. The texture of the cake was a bit lighter, though. It worked fine for me, because I was doing a simple two layer cake. If you're going to be doing a tiered or carved cake, I'd recommend doing a trial run first, just to make sure you still have a dense enough cake to stand up to whatever you're planning to use it for
