I am new to cookie decorating and need help! I am in search of a royal icing recipe that uses meringue powder and dries shiny. The recipes that I’ve used go on the cookie shiny and bright, but dry dark and dull. I’m so frustrated!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

add gum arabic to your royal icing -- you can get it at cake decorating supply stores, online and maybe at hobby lobby type places -- very inexpensive and very shiny -- also strengthens royal

I think you might be able to make a paint with it -- just water and gum arabic -- and paint it on your finished dried cookie -- test it first -- then you can use a lot less too -- it's ver ver shiny

How do you dry your cookies? When I dry mine using a fan, they're always shiny. I use this recipe and it is easily cut in half or doubled if I need it.
