Toba Garrett is a highly skilled teacher, author, and cake artist.

Her glaze is for cookies. It is a recipe in her books. I believe the recipe appears on baking911.com and it might be on her website.

SO sorry, I didn't mean to sound stupid, I am new to this and I kept reading a lot of people using Toba Glaze, and asking questions about it....I didn't realize it was a person's glaze...
I am learning so much from this site. Thanks Cindy

Tsk, tsk! No such thing as a silly question. Especially when I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Hey, that's why we are here, right? We are learning!

I've always used royal to flood my cookies - so tell me, is the glaze really runny? Like you have to put the cookies on racks and sort of pour it over them and then it runs off the edges? Or is there a neater way to do it? I'd like to try a different recipe.

When made like the recipe it's quite thick (suitable for outlining). You need to thin it down for flooding work. If you want it shinier thin with more corn syrup, not so shiny, use water - JUST A LITTLE!
don't ask me how i know that... icon_redface.gif
