Thanks so much for the tip on cakes sticking to pan. I've always used spray and flour but still my cake would stick go pan in some places. This time ,I tried your tip. As soon as I removed it from the over I placed the hot pan on a wet towel and waited 5 minutes. Then flipped the pan over onto a prepared frosting sheet and WOW..came right out, No Sticking...thanks so much!Cake No Longer Sticks

I have never had a cake stick when greasing the pan with shortening and dusting with flour???  I've also used homemade cake release, which is one part flour, one part oil and one part shortening, mixed well in the food processor until smooth and creamy.  Just slather it on the cake pan.  Oh, and I always, always used a wax paper or parchment paper circle in the bottom of my cake pans, regardless of how I finish the sides.

I only use a piece of parchment paper cut to the size of the bottom of the cake pan I am using and that is it.  I don't grease or flour anything.  Once out of the oven I let the cake cool for a few minutes and then I take a metal spatula and run it between the pan and the cake and the cake easily flips out thanks to the parchment.

Glad to hear someone’s tip worked for you   We have often said what works for me might not work for you     I found spray’s don’t work very well but brushed on does   I use home made usually
