Hey my friend wants square cakes for her daughters birthday party that I am making cakes for but the stands we want are for circle cakes. Would they be ok of the stand was a size or two bigger so that the cake with fit?

It will be fine as long as you have at least an inch extra.

As cutiger said, it should be fine.  I have put 10" sq on 8" circles (just an example)  w/o problems.

sure that's cool -- but I would cut off the round parts and either cut it into a square or at least round it off some -- but that's just me -- the smallest the square should be is two inches larger than the cake which will give it one inch all the way around which cutiger and lynnie said -- and the nicest look is four inches bigger than the cake which give you a board that is two inches bigger all the way around --

best to you
