Hello

I am trying to alter a recipe, it calls for one cup coffee in liquid form for a chocolate cake. I switched the cocoa powder in the recipe to flour amount and switched the coffee liquid to Orange juice and it came out great.

However I was wondering if I wanted to make a simple vanilla cake or anything else can I switch the liquid amount to milk ? Also what other subs can I do instead of the coffee.

Thanks!

You can totally use milk-or coconut milk- or almond milk....I’ve done all of those with good results and very mild flavor differences.

KAkeladi’s deeeeeelicious original WASC cake recipe on this site says you can use just about anything...juice, soda...I know people that even just use water!

Hope that helps!

In case you've not seen it here is the recipe MerMadeBakedGoods refered to:  https://www.cakecentral.com/recipe/7445/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe

I suggest you take the time to read through the whole post.  There is a ton of information contained in the comments :)
