So I’m pretty new at this and I am learning everything on the Internet, but I just made some cakes that I am going to ice and decorate  tomorrow. Should I store them and keep them in a airtight container until tomorrow morning. Or should I put them in the freezer?. I’m reading mixed reviews online. Thank you!

I know i'm too late to offer you advice on what to do with your cakes from yesterday but just in general -- I make enough icing to fill the cakes then I baked them -- torte, level and fill them -- wrap them like mummies and freeze -- everybody does it different --

hope everything is going well -- best to you

So very sorry no one could help you out yesterday :(      As K8 said for future knowledge , everyone does things a bit differently - no real right or wrong, just as long as you covered them well, (I put them into plastic bags) and keep them on the counter.  Other times I have put them on a cake circle and covered it w/the baking pan :)   You could fz them, but then you have the defrost time to take into consideration when wanting to work on them.

For just one day, I always wrap them well and keep them in the refrigerator, perferably already leveled, torted, filled and crumb coated.

I do not wait to thaw before icing -- I just whip them out and ice them
