Hi all! I am looking for a cookie icing recipe that I can melt successfully for dipping the cookie but also solid enough to pipe details with. Many of the icing recipes I’ve tried are runny and just taste like pure 10X sugar. Many store bought icings don’t melt well in the microwave. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe that you can BOTH dip and pipe with? Thanks in advance

a bakery I used to work for used canned icing melted over the stove top to pour over the cookies -- and if you need the icing stronger for piping use cornstarch in there

Here is the recipe I have used as you described:   https://www.cakecentral.com/recipe/22469/2-icing    Nohing wrong w/k8's idea but this would taste much better - at least I think so ;)
