How long after I take my frozen and frosted cake out of the freezer do I need to wait to put on fondant?

I know some people apply the fondant while the cake is still frozen, but I prefer it to be fully thawed, but refrigerator cold.

Interesting...the fondant cakes I made I always did at room temp...  Was always told fondant cakes could not be fzn :)  Yes, I did learn much later on here that they could be but still always covered them at room temp.

I always do everything on a cold cake because they are so much more sturdy and I am a klutz!
