Making my first semi naked cake and was wondering if it would be a good idea to sugar syrup my layers, since these cakes tend to dry out faster?

Would depend on how early you are going to stack and frost.  If you have any concerns about the cake being dry before frosting, go ahead.  If you are going to frost several days ahead of time, use it.  I just got a new oven and still don't have hang of it, so I am using it for the first time.  I'd rather be safe than sorry...I hate dry cake!  Good luck with your cake.  Those cakes are fun to do.

I'm looking forward to it! I wasnt planning on icing until the day before, so, I guess I probably should, just in case. Thanks for your help!

It never hurts to put a coat of simple syrup on any cake - unless it is super very moist already :)

That was my initial thought,  but wanted someone who knew more about naked cakes to tell me that lol.  Thank you!
