Does anyone know if a company that offers quality sculpting videos?  There are scads out there but I’d like something tried and true.

Will be taking sculpting in the next semester, but would like to get a jump on it.  Will really help me with more realistic figures.

Any advice for what materials to practice with is appreciate as well.  I know some practice with fondant, some with polymer clay.

Also - to age a piece, would airbrushing be the best technique?

Thanks!

I've watched lots of YouTube videos on sculpting in clay, which I translate in sculpting with modeling chocolate.  Tried and true???  Is there any such thing? I didn't know there was a right and wrong way to produce art.

Practice helps with realistic figures.

The material depends strictly upon preference.  I like to sculpt with chocolate, but clay does the same thing, just doesn't smell or taste as good.

Again, the way you "age" a piec depends upon the look you want.  You can use an airbrush or you can use powdered colors.

By tried and true, I was just asking which worked best for people: classes, videos, etc.

There are so many videos out there - may I ask if there’s a particular artist you like?

thanks

Not necessarily.  If I like the looks of their work, I watch as many as I can.  Seems everyone has something to offer and I learn something new with each video.

Every one learns differently.  I tried to learn with books but until I took a couple of lessons everything in the book was just gobblygook to me.  It might be est for you to take a couple lessons then the videos will make more scense to you.
