Cream Cheese Frosted Cake Decoration For Man

I’m making a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for a man’s 30th birthday. Other than a gold happy birthday cake topper the design is up to me. But I’m a bit stumped.

I like the idea of grey ombré but not sure if ombré looks masculine and how easy it is too colour cream cheese frosting as it gets softer the more you mix it.

Can I attach fondant decorations to cream cheese frosting? All the masculine cakes I’ve seen have blue or grey fondant spots, stripes or stars. I don’t really like the look of them but they do look more masculine.

Any ideas please?

i always piped scrolls on guy's cakes -- chocolate was the best but not the best with carrot cake -- hey -- how about fall leaves -- a tad early but i LOVE fall leaves and you can do it very masculine -- you could scrolls and the leaves -- maybe

Here are some I have done.........some with just fancy writting & flurishes etc. a couple of Lambeth type piping. You don't say what size or shape this is - maybe one of these will spark some idea in your mind :)
