wanted to start with quick hi as it is my first post at cake central.

This is the cake which was home baked by me.Although once I reached the venue , the cake was damaged as shown in below picture.

I am unsure of what happened during delivery process that cake was damaged to such an extent .Also to add a quick note - I have noticed this is a common problem with all my fondant cakes and I take extreme care during delivery.

FYI - Fondant is used for decoration.

What are your suggestions to avoid such damages to my cake?

tell me about the temperature of the cake -- did it come out of the fridge or anything like that? what has the weather been like? super humid maybe?

was it boxed for the delivery -- did something leak on it? what kind of coloring is that?

how did you adhere the pieces to the cake?? methinks it's melting and causing problems

You definitely have a bleeding/weeping fondant problem on your hands, probably due to temperature/humidity fluctuations.  Did you place the decorations on your cake and then refrigerate it?  I feel like as you traveled with the cake everything started to warm up which caused condensation on the cake and decorations and then everything started to melt/bleed.

Hi tamanjot; nice to have you join our ranks.  That sure started out as a nicely done, clean creation.   Sorry you are having such problems.

As the others have said, it most likely is a humidity/temp problem.  K8s ?s are important for us to try to help you further.  Is your car air conditioned?  Did you cool the car down before putting the cake in?  Was the cake put on a *flat* surface?  A car seat or in someone's lap is NOT where it belongs.    If the cake was frozen or frig'd and went right from frig to warm car most likely that is the major problem.   But with more infrom you I'm sure we can help prevent any further problems for you : )
