Hello!

I was wondering if wrapping a cake in aluminum foil will keep it moist, like plastic wrap would? I unfortunately do not have any plastic wrap, and am looking alternatives. Any assistance is appreciated!

Thanks, Fandom.

yes if you can seal it in there -- and if you can or can't if you can also slide it into a food safe plastic bag that will help too -- like if you have a roasting bag or something -- or can tape two together to make one big enough -- or even into a crinkle bag from the grocery store -- if it's already being protected by the foil --

not a trash bag though -- mom always told me they were treated with something non-foodie -- do you have any plastic boxes that would work? i'm picturing leftover cake but would work for brand new cake too

Aluminum Foil will help keep foods fresh and moist for short periods.  DO NOT use it instead of plastic wrap for freezer storage.  It will develop pin holes that cancells it's moisture protection qualities.    One other option is waxed paper.  Double or triple layer of waxer paper will hold it well for a couple of days.

I was thinking if you already have it wrapped in aluminum, you could seal it in a garbage or dry cleaner bag, but Kate said no.
