I am making this wedding cake this weekend.  I have made all the leaves and flowers out of gum paste as thin and light as I felt comfortable making them.  I am attaching the flowers to fondant.  My question is does anyone have any advice as to what would be best to attach the leaves to?  My fear of attaching them to a fondant base is that they may be too heavy and may pull or sag the fondant?  I've considered (because the leaves will cover) sticking them directly into a meringue buttercream?  But then also worried about them getting soft where they've been pushed into the buttercream... Am I worried about nothing and they won't pull the fondant?    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!  :)  How Best To Attach Gum Paste Decorations

Not having used SMBC I can't say for sure but I don't think there will be a problem.

If you are attaching the leaves to fondant, I suggest you use melted chocolate (or candy melts) as glue because it is very strong and I do not think it will hurt the fondant at all.  Maybe cover your cake and let the fondant cure for a few hours before adding the leaves.
