I have my own home baking business but don’t own an edible image printer. When a customer wants to order cupcakes with edible images on top (I would have to supply the fondant disc to put them on) should I be organising the edible images or should I point the customer in the right direction to get them themselves & get the toppers to me? Does anyone else do this? TIA

I’m an amateur cake decorator but I always organise edible prints myself.

I do not have a printer, either, but I order them online myself and add it to the cost of their cake or cupcakes. The only time that I have a customer purchase something themselves is when they want a cake with a copyrighted theme.....Batman, Minnie Mouse, Hello Kitty, etc. In that instance I have them purchase a toy to place on the cake.

I get it myself and cut it out and apply it to the fondant.

I would do as ypierce82 said and order the images yourself and add that extra cost into the total cost to your customer.  I know as a customer I would rather pay a bit extra for someone else to handle that aspect than me having to deal with it.
