evil cake genius strikes again!!! I don't know how old this product is but come to momma, calgon take me away and why didn't I think of that
I saw this the other day. So incredibly smart!
if I was still doing cakes -- I think i'd get one for each hand hahahahaha
I am a tester for this product and it is fabulous!
sandra -- oh, you're even cooler than I thought you were! awesome
-K8memphis, here is a collaboration, dedicated to the introduction of the Drageekiss, that will be revealed in a few days. Be sure to see it! You've never seen so many pearls in your life and so much beautiful work. By the way, you can go so quickly with this handy, dandy tool that you would not need one for each hand!
Hehehe, I'd still love to see one in each hand being wielded... such great mental pics!! Whizzing around the kitchen in an apron covered in icing sugar, one in each hand, pew pew pew, dragees flying through the air and magically sticking in the exact right spot on the cake!!
meme -- I love your style -- you're on a roll this morning hahahaha
like the old time gun slinger where you whip them out of your holster, er apron pocket and twirl them around your finger before crouching and firing -- omg this is so funny -- your kids try to enter the room and you nail them with a few and they run off -- wow we should help ecg with some of the marketing -- she would be so pleased hehehehheh
i saw ecg's reply to the cost of it -- just depends on what your time is worth -- i know it cost her more than $2,50 to have them made -- retail typically has a 100% mark up --it costs to have proto-types made and work through issues to create something in the first place -- find the right materials and get the design just right -- for me in the professional world doing many wedding cakes weekly -- oh hell yes -- i'd pay thirty bucks in a heart beat --
and for what it's worth the suzy homemaker caker needs that tool because they are so achingly slow anyway -- that would help her make up time --
obviously -- it ain't for you gscout but it's a wonderful viable important tool -- but just give it a few months till the chinese start pumping 'em out at $2.99 -- you can get one then --
-K8memphis, you are spot on, as always! I couldn't even start to guess at the cost of developing this tool. In the few months that I've been working with it, there was a design modification and new parts were sent to each of us...although I had no trouble with the original.
For a professional, it would be invaluable, since time is money and it makes applying pearls so fast and easy. Also, I have very twisted, arthritic hands and it is hard to hold pearls with tweezers, but the Drageekiss solves that problem. I was even asked if I had trouble due to my arthritis, because they have another, softer spring available, but I did not. I found it very easy to use. In case you haven't guessed, I love my little, purple toy!
Here is a video (I hope it comes through) demonstrating the Drageekiss and some instructions which will help with its use.
Not sure if it was Evil Cake Genius....but I was at the large cake show in Orlando and this was being demo'ed ...the thing was super awesome! They had a young teenage boy doing cakes for 3 days with it. I didn't get one but will soon! Mrs. Evil has very cool toys!!!
Well work $30 +++ if you have put all those dragees all over layers and layers of cake! Besides, I can't see anymore like I used to!! LOL
I understand R&D, production and marketing. And it certainly is such a time saver. It just seems like such a high price. But then again, it probably won't be long before Chinese copycats catch wind of it and steal her intellectual property and undercut her sales. So, with that in mind, it might not be too high of a price after all. She certainly deserves credit for this innovative tool.
