Hi 

Please be gentle this is my first post 

ive been asked to make a peaky blinder cake.

i can't work out how they make the 'tweed' effect on the cake! 

Any ideasPeaky Blinder Tweed Cap?

Oh my I'm at a loss for that :(  If no one comes up with any suggestions you are just going to have to tell the costumer there are some things that just can't be done in cake :(

As I was typing that ^^^ a thought came to me what might work:  make some fondant, find something you can  impress into it to get the cross hatch/upside down V look then brush it w/brown powdered food color.

You could also use a printed edible image.  Personally, I would prefer to do it as kakeladi suggested, make a crosshatched, herringbone design onto a beige fondant, then dust (with a flat brush) with a olive green petal dust.
