Hello all,

It's been a long time since I have been on this site, I actually had to create a new profile, but I have run into a challenge on a wedding cake that I am not sure how to do.  In your opinions, how do you think the scrollwork/paisley design is done on this cake?  I cannot believe it would be piped, is it a mold or sugar veil?  Or piped?  Just trying to price this cake for the bride and have not encountered one this detailed.........Is This Piping Or Possibly Sugar Veil Work?

Wish I could help but there is soooooo much new stuff - molds etc - out since I hung up my spatula :)  My guess is it's piped or both a mold and some piping - the arch on the bottome tier and the straight line on the middle one especially.  Sometimes pictures don't really give you a true sense of what it is :(

If I had to guess, I would say it is definitely piped.  I have not seen any molds for cake lace that looks anything like this.  Also, I see no "repeat" in the pattern, as would be the case if it were a mold.  Gorgeous work!

My vote is piped with royal. Kudos to the steady hand because I absolutely couldn't do this. Gorgeous cake!

Definitely looks like piped royal icing to me!
