I just got some new  heavy and sturdy aluminum round, rectangle and square cake pans.

But a few pieces arrive dented. The round pans either have a imprint of a smaller pan place on top or at the side & bottom of the pan which makes it not so round.

The serious dents are on the bottom of the pans with quite a number of spots on the rectangle and square pans.

I have never use a dented pan for baking before and am not sure if these lot could still be use for baking. Would the dents affect the finished product such as certain areas that are not bake and it may look bumpy in appearance.

Appreciate if anyone could help to clear my concerns.

Thank you.

i don't know -- i mean the bottoms of pans are smooth -- if they are lumpy then the pan won't sit level and that's a big problem --

i replaced all my pans once and when they shipped them -- they did not put any paper in between and they arrived all aluminum-y -- all scratched and the dark aluminum rubbed all over each other so it rubs off on you and everything kwim -- so i wasn't pleased and the guy said oh they get that way anyway -- i said i know they will but that's for when i use them -- they are supposed to arrive new and shiney -- so i got a big credit on my next purchase that i never used --

but i think you have a problem -- are your new pans sitting level? how bad are the dings on the sides?

If I ordered something and it arrived dented I would be sending it back.

Send it back. They would have pitched a fit if you had sent dented payment (as in missing some) you should not have to accept damaged, likely used, property. That's like selling a cake you took a slice out of at full price. I detest buying an item and receiving it damaged.

Yep I would send it back too, they may try to say the damage happened in transit though so be ready for that when you call/email them.

If they are a reputable company I would think they would replace them easily enough.

I agree w/all the others.   That was  my very 1st thought......deffinately send them back and expect a full refund OR a new perfect order of pans.

Absolutely send those back.  And don't pay for shipping!  If you're not buying "scratched and dented" they damn well better not expect you to pay for scratched and dented.
